Several weeks ago I asked if anyone had a spare master cylinder cap for my '56 FFPW so I could make an adapter for my power bleeder. I came up empty, but not after Doc Dave very graciously offered to lend me his, and even met me while on the way to the airport a few weeks ago to lend it to me.

Not giving up easily, I still wanted one of my own... As it turns out, t.The threads on my master cylinder cap are 3/4"-18. 18 turns per inch, but it looks like a standard 3/4 SAE bolt thread. (not NPT pipe threads) I don't know if this is what Dodge did in 1956, but Raybestos does it now, and my MC-544 master cylinder has those threads. The MC-544 is a standard replacement MC for many of the power wagons I think.

OK, so it turns out that an "inverted flare hydraulic" fitting uses these threads. It is a Parker part # 41IFS-8. Into that thing you can thread a 1/4" NPT barb, with some sealant, and you are good to go! The 1/4" NPT is a bit loose at first, but with the taper it is fine. If I have this right, the picture shows the invention.

Now, I don't need my wonderful wife to help me bleed my brakes every time I work on them!
