I asked a similar question earlier in the Forum. JD posted the following:

"Tim, I made a puller that worked really well. Get a piece of stock to go across the flats of the knuckle.(about 10") drill a hole in center for a piece of 3/8 all thred to pass thru. Take a sturdy 1" flat washer and grind it oval so it will pass thru the center of the bushing at an angle. put it on the end of the thredded rod, followed by a 3/8 washer, then a 3/8 nut. It will pass thru the bushing and grab the back edge when pulled back to the front. slide the bar stock over the rod and pull with another 3/8 nut. The trick is to make the 1" washer fit as close as possible. I hope you understood my explination!!!! If you get stuck, Vintage sells a tool somebody makes. Good luck, John"

Following John's instructions, both the seal and bushing came out easily. The only "mod" I made was using a piece of 3/4" UniStrut instead of flat stock (it's what I had on hand). I would also suggest using some light oil on the all thread (mine started to gall).

Best of all, it cost less than $2!!

Good luck,
