To clear up a couple of things from AAA's post(the rest is spot on).
The Town Wagon was a late 55 early 56 item.
The Town Panel (no side windows) was introduced in 54, possibly late 53.
The slant six was first used in TW/TPs in 1961.
Nice job of describing the changes Aaron!
I would agree that the later 61-66 trucks are easier to live with.
