Do you have a radiator shroud?

If you have a radiator shroud, the clutch fan is better.

The problem with a flex fan is that at high speed the blades flatten and close off the airflow through the radiator and shroud. I've seen this happen, and the instant cure was the stock fan or a clutch fan.
