I just put one of my hubs back together yesterday. Sounds like your inner oil seal failed and allowed the diff fluid into the hub. You need to replace the seal and I would HIGHLY recommend that you also replace the bushing since you're already there. Further down the forum are the directions on how to build a cheap puller for the seal/bushing (look for my name).


On the recommendation of Vaughn (I think?) I packed the hub with aluminum based marine grease. It's blue in color, VERY sticky, and is more impervious to water than standard wheel bearing grease. 1 tub (14 oz.) will fill 1 hub.

The wheel bearings are separated (some what) from the inner hub and should be packed with a high quality wheel bearing grease.
