I called the guy who owns the truck and asked him about it last night. I'm from the area and thought I might take a look at it this weekend. Here's the scoop:

Along with new breaks and carb, the truck used to run pretty solid. But, it has a twisted rod bearing, which is a terminal thing. He didn't tell me this, but I know that it wouldn't last long. It's a 318. He had it for a while and his son said that he wanted to restore it, but they have too many other projects, so they're parting out on it. The ad said $750, but the guy seemed really nice and might come down on it. The body has rust and as he said "needs restoration", whatever that means. If anyone is interested in it, I will be looking at it Sunday and will try to report back with more info. Again, it's a 78 "Macho" with the sunroof, full time 4x4, auto, 318. Maybe a good project, but we'll have to see...
