Yes, that's how I verified that the crank pulley TDC line is way off from the timing cover pointer, while #6 is at TDC. Makes me think there are different pulley / cover combinations, maybe depending which location would be easier to see in a given application. I might have mixed-and-matched too carelessly, I need to take my other pulley and cover over and compare them. It seems to me it can't be a problem of how the oil pump or distributor are indexed, or even how the timing chain is installed, if a wire in the #6 hole disagrees with the timing pointer and pulley mark. I don't think it can really be that far off considering that it runs tolerably well.
