dave, i just sandblasted my 48 frame and coated it with eastwoods rubberized rust encapsulator. It worked great and I would highly recommend it.. I brushed it on because i wanted to get every nook and cranny. The sheen was a low gloss. Not too much gloss. Just right.
One of my friends painted a chassis with por 15 and it faded to a gray overnight. That stuff has to be top coated. The rubberized rust encapsulator is way easier to apply and looks great. Let us know which route you take.
