I have towed lots for years with poly powered D300s and they keep up just fine. with 4.88 gears I had to keep my foot out of it to keep it at 62 mph. it wanted to run faster! The trailer brake on the tandem traier I used to borrow was not reliable. So 62 is as fast as I wanted to go. Polys make lots of torque all through the rpm range. W300 might be abit more slow due to the extra weight of front axle and Tcase. nothing adding a four barrel wouldnt cure. if you drove a poly powered Dodge truck you might be surprisd at the pull they have.
