If you hate to see anything but original trucks, stop reading here. Sorry to all you folks who love the originals, but I still think this is a cool truck.

Ok, here goes. I have a 1957 Dodge Power Wagon W100 4x4 with 7.5' long bed. It has factory overload springs in the back. This was the first year of the civilian Power Wagons, and in my opinion, the coolest. This Power Giant 4x4 is a very rare truck; HOWEVER, it is not original.

Here is why it is not original.
I have taken out the original bench and put in two buckets.

I removed the old 4 speed manual and installed a Hurst floor shift, short shaft automatic 727 transmission that has been professionally rebuilt with stage 2 shift kit, and 2,500 stall which was also professionally built. Tranny cooler mounted on radiator. The tranny was built to withstand over 550 horse, which is good because I also replaced the stock V8 motor.

Original engine was a 315. I replaced the 315 engine with a 1968 big block Mopar 383, with 11.5 to 1 compression, bored .040 over, Offenhauser high rise with dual carbs (600 cfm Carters, one with electronic choke), headers, Isky adjustable rockers, hi torque mini starter, Mickey Thompson valve covers, etc, etc. It was built by a local builder up here, who has 30 years experience building engines (I lost his number and will look for the build sheet so you can see what was done). He estimated its power at 500 horsepower and 500+ ft lbs of torque (I have never had it on a dyno). It still has Mallory points style distributor, which I was planning on upgrading to electronic, but never got around to. I had every intention of converting the engine to propane, but again, I have run out of time to work on it. I have at least $5,000 into the engine and tranny alone.

It also has an electronic fuel pump, with shut off in cab (I was going to use the electronic to assist to a mechanical pump, but right now it is just electronic).

Has Flex fan and aluminum pulleys
Bed of truck is Diamond plated aluminum (but if I get time I am going to remove it and put in wood for aesthetics).
Gas tank has been removed and replaced with a race ready foam-filled fuel cell in the bed of the truck (have the original tank still).
The front end and rear end were removed and replaced with a Dana 44 front and Dana 60 rear. They came out of a International Travelall. (I drove it with this running gear before I did the motor swap, but only for a few years). Truck still has the stock transfer case which is very strong, but just in case, I have a spare np 205 that will go with the truck if you pay a respectable price.
I've had 35" swampers on it before, but right now it has 33" tires on it that have been sitting on the truck for the last few years and you can see the letters starting to run. The tread is great and I pulled the tires and ran them on my Ford for a few months with no issues.
Truck has power steering which my father and I took off of a 70’s Power Wagon,

It has new gauges for oil, temp, and alt. Original fuel gauge works but is not hooked up. Old dash gauges worked before the motor swap. I also have a tachometer that I haven't installed yet.

It is in primer and will need sanding prior to paint. I have the paint which is black and a matte sheen if you want it.

I pulled the badges on the outside to prepare for paint, and I have the badges including a couple 383 badges to add to it.
I also pulled all the flooring and carpet out of the truck and have coated the inside with por-15, which if you haven’t used it works great. I was planning on coating the interior with a bed liner so I could just spray it out when done taking it off road, but again I just don't have the time.

I also have some parts that will go with it if we can agree on a price. I have a brand new in the package Lokar kickdown cable, New U-joints, New Ubolts for u joints (also some heavy duty u joint caps for strength, NP 205 transfer case, 2 electric fans both out of 3.0 liter ford Taurus in case you want to put in an electric fan, new seat belts never installed, exhaust, traction bars, original gas tank, and I'm sure some other stuff.

This is still a project, so these are the things it needs:
Passenger side door glass has crack, but is flat and an easy replace (I got a quote for $50 for the glass).
I intended to do a 4 link in the front, but never got around to it (doesn't need it, but would be great).
The alternator needs to be wired in (I may get to this before it sells as it won't take long at all), also needs new power steering pump lines (they leak), it has been sitting a few years since I did the motor swap so the carbs may need to be cleaned or kitted (not sure), I put fuel stabilizer in the tank and I start it up every once in a while and move it, but honestly I scare the neighbors as soon as it starts up. It has open headers right now, so you can imagine how loud it is. One last thing, it needs a low profile air cleaner on the rear carb as well (which I keep covered when not running).

If you want it, it will need to be trailered or towed (I drove it from the front yard to the back yard, but haven't taken it out on a long drive). There are some things to do to it before you drive it on the street. Brakes are up, but I was going to flush the brake lines to be safe. Also, the truck needs to be gone over and double check all connections, welds and bolts, etc to make sure it is safe. Five Hundred horsepower is a lot to handle, so to be safe it will need to be looked over. I was planning on installing some safety switches in the cab, but haven't done that yet. You can manually shut the fuel pump off with a switch in the cab, but I haven't installed other shut offs yet. I thought about 5 point harnesses, but for now I just have seat belts.

To say I have put a ton of time, energy and money into this project, would be an understatement. When I got the truck, it was bone stock. I have owned this truck since I first started to drive (that's right, it was my first vehicle ever). She’s been with me for 20 years. I will sorely miss her, but I haven't been giving her the time she deserves. My family and business take all my time, and I am happy to give it, but my truck has been getting jealous and I think she needs someone else to make her happy. I know how rare these trucks are stock and what these trucks are going for, and I know how much I have put into it. I also know that it is not original and that it still needs some work. You won't find another one quite like this.

For those of you wondering, I've already sold the original 315 V8, the original trans, and the original running gear. I have the original gas tank and a few other odds and ends that I have removed over the years, and the buyer is welcome to have those.

Also, I never had any intention of making this a trailer queen or of having an original condition pickup. I was building this to drive hard, and take off road in the mud and do some crawling if the mood caught me, I just never got the time to finish it, and I doubt I will get the time in the near future.
I really don't want to see it sit.

$9,500 OBO. If you have any questions, please let me know. I will do my best to answer them.

I know money is tight for a lot of people, so I will consider all trades or part trades. Unfortunately, I do not have the time to trade for projects, which is the reason why this is listed. I am looking for a 4x4 rig that is trail ready and capable with working seat belts for my family (needs to seat four), possibly a muscle car, nice tent trailer, 4x4 full size van. Again, any vehicle I trade for needs to be at least a 4 seater. I will also consider many other trades, so please feel free to let me know what you have and I will gladly let you know if I am interested. Thanks so much for reading my book length ad and have a good day.
