Its amazing how little transmission oil you actually drain out in a change. Much is left in the transmission and torque converter. Only draining and then filling with new oil only gets the new oil contaminated with the majority still in the system. A real oil change takes a lot of transmission oil being pumped into the system while the engine is running. Pump in new oil till the old oil coming out the return cooler tube is the same color as the new oil. Now you truly have a 'complete' transmission oil change.
