Drop your tailgate, and sit on it with tape measure in my hands. Me weighing a mere 244#, I can guess at how much the tail gate ought to sag under X amount of trailer load. Extra sag is good, that 10% is minimum.

Like Marty seeing that Chevvelle, I once towed a 58 Pontiac with it's engine in the trunk. It fishtailed so bad at 45 mph, that I got off the freeway, found a side street with a hill, rolled if off the trailer down hill, backed the trailer around so we could re-load down the hill, all to get it turned around on the trailer. It was no help, it still fishtailed at 45. Long trip. Good thing it was only a 40 mile drive.
