If I find a WC rear with the 8 3/4 rear, wouldn't that solve the clearance problem? over 75% of the braking power is on the front anyway! the early WC's had little bitty drums on them. seems to me that would be a viable choice. then you could do whatever needed to be done to the wheels to make your clearance.
