Spitfire was just a marking name born prior to WW II. Probably conceived from the British Spitfire developed in 1936 which did have impressive performance.
However, if you have a Spitfire Chrysler engine and eat a large plate of fish and chips, a few warm beers and strap on a helmet, you may dream your flying high at 448 mph over the White Cliffs of Dover.
