I found a '68 not too far away that I tried to get for two years. The owner, I knew from back when we were younger, told me he paid $125 for it from his uncle. The frame rotted in two, the bed literally fell apart, no rear axle, no engine, non-winch, basically a rusted hulk. It had good lockouts, seat, gauges and doors, and that was it. I finally got him to shoot me a price. He said $950, I said absolutely no way and to call me when he decided to scrap it. I would've went $500. A '68 parts truck is a parts truck, not a goldmine. If it was a '46 or '47, I would've went $600. Nice guy, but like your guy, is way off.
