This is one of many "scripted reality" shows. Their primary goal appears to be entertaining the TV audience without making anyone do any real thinking.
How much more would you pay for something, just because you don't know what it is?
How about the folks on a supposedly deserted island who eat bugs because there is no other food on the island?? Do you really believe the camera crews live like the ones they are photographing?
How valid is the estimate a pawn shop operator gets from a custom hot rod builder when the item is an original classic car?
Spend a couple days at Carlisle, Hershey, or Pate and compare prices for cars and car parts. Learn how far apart asking prices are from selling prices.
Learn how "shills" are employed to manipulate prices in televised auctions.
