The I (1?) is to the extreme left on the scale and the O (0?) is to the extreme right of the scale, but they do not flank the same timing mark. I think you are right that it probably is intended to mean 10 degrees to the left (advance) and 10 degrees to the right (retard) of TDC at the vee notch, which is in the center. Thanks for bolstering my intention to set the timing (5 degrees BTDC) at the first timing mark to the left of the vee notch! Thanks for your help! At my age, I've learned to measure first and then cut the board.....but I have learned this the hard way....... Thanks for your help.....Keith.
