PTO Question

I am about to do an engine and tranny swap from my 49 Power Wagon to my 48 Power wagon.

The 49 doesn't have a PTO but my 48 does. Can I just take the PTO off of the 48 and put it on the 49 tranny?.......Thanks Brent
