If you are trying to use an E7F1 or E7S1 carb without the fuel filter, then you need to make sure the seat (of the needle and seat assembly) is in place and has the proper 5/16 inverted flare to connect the fuel line to - or has a 1/8 NPT male end on it. Most kits come with both fittings. The fuel filter screws directly onto this male 1/8 thread. The other end of the fuel filter (inlet) will have a female thread in either 1/8 or 1/4 inch NPT.
