Thanks Dave. Is it possible that primer pump is on the filter housing? I don't see anything on the lift pump (if that's what the small contraption on the back of the block really is), but on the fuel filter housing there's a plastic knob with a picture of a gas pump on it. If I unscrew it, it pulls out about 2-3". I haven't tried "pumping" it. I thought maybe it was a bleeder valve, but if it's a pump, I'll give it a go.
