Most Australians didn't want it in the first place - we didn't have a choice - it was a gov initiative and huge fines/jail if you didn't comply. They had an amnesty for people handing in after the closing date, then did it all again about 2 years later after an extensive advertising campaign to brainwash the people. The shooting movement is very much against it and getting stronger, we even have our own party fighting for election. Maybe one day???
