Right after the Colorado shootings, I was reading all these articles on CNN, BBC, etc about how backwards the US is and why can't we get with the program like all the civilized countries and ban guns. The articles all say how there have been no mass shootings in England or Australia since the basically banned guns (funny how they never mention Norway). Anyhow it's interesting to find out that actually the murder and robbery rates in Australia have gone way up. So I guess the choice is do you want to have 100 more regular murders per year in order to prevent a dozen people being killed by a mass murderer every 5 years. Or something like that. Myself, I'd rather be alive than dead, and it would be small consolation to me to know as I was dying that my murderer only just killed me that day.
