North bend was a ghost town for at least 25 years after the bypass went in. it has come back though that is correct. even in the early 90s the whole main street was for lease. Les schwab was the only open biz of any relevance for years. I considered renting the old chevy dealer bldg. right in town where the light used to be. the numbers just did not ad up to start a biz.
