The advantage of electronic systems:
- Maintenance free
- Dwell adjustment is not longer necessary
- No condenser
- no timing wonder at higher rpm
- Higher voltage at higher RPM
Do you really need it on a slower running engine w/lower compression that's not a daily driver? And when it breaks your stuck!
The advantage of an electric fuel pump:
- You can prime the carb after the truck has sat for several months making it easier to start.
- Esier to get a replacement when out of town. Most part places have them in stock.
- Due to it's location by the tank, it's easier to change out when on the road. No messing with a hot engine
Other than that, mechanical and electrical both work fine
