If that fiberglass hardtop is ready to use, I think it'd be worth it for me to come down and get it even though my old pickup's only getting about 10 mpg these days.
On the scrap guy, he hasn't actually named a price yet. He's a good kid, trying to earn a living the honest way. He's got one bad foot, due to a birth defect and a botched operation, so he can't work in the mines and he could easily get on permanent disability, but he'd rather work any way he can. I believe you that the $350 is BS. I think he gave $500 for the truck to some guy in Athol. I'm not sure I'd offer him much more than that. The only thing on it that's would be of value to me is the winch, and it's well used.
Please do inquire about the Boyce conversion parts. If I can get that setup reasonable, I'll definitely schedule a trip to pick it and your cab up. I need to get some kind of cab on the truck before winter, and one of these years we're sure to have a scary dry fire season and I'll really wish I had the brush truck drivable.
