Randy: A more direct approach might be to install a Chelsea PTO with two rear-facing output shafts as pictured below. You can use a cable control to select the upper shaft or the lower shaft (but both shafts cannot be operated at the same time). You might connect the upper PTO output shaft to operate the PW's rear tail shaft and connect the lower PTO output shaft to operate your hydraulic pump (or vice versa if switching uses fits better).

You will have to find and install on the Chelsea PTO the correct input gear for the transmission in your truck. A large city drive line shop should be able to help you find the correct input gear.

My 1947 WDX has a Chevy SM-420 tranny in it. I installed a Chelsea dual shaft PTO on the SM-420 that has one output shaft facing forward to operate the Braden MU-2 winch and the other output shaft facing rearward to operate the PW tail shaft. The PTO cable control knob is mounted inside the cab on an accessory control panel from a 1950's Dodge truck that bolts to the bottom edge of the PW dashboard.

Food for thought. Email me if you need more information or photos, or if you have an interest in purchasing the Chelsea PTO pictured below.
