The '69-up bellhousing CAN be made to work, but it's not worth the effort. The old "Poly" bellhousings are still all over the place (I got mine for $30), and it's a bolt-on/bolt-in swap. The later bellhousings lack the bellhousing "motor" mount, and you have to fabricate a tranny rear crossmember to make it work. The input shaft of the '65-68 NP435 or NP420 will be too short, and unless you have the skills or dough to have the later NP tranny's input shaft modified, it's like cutting an open wound with a knife- it was bad enough to start with, and it won't get better. The BEST, and in my opinion ONLY way to do it, is with the setup that Ray recommends, the way he recommends it. It took me a while to find everything for my swap, but it definitely made it worth the wait to do it right the first time.
