I know we're not supposed to be political here, but what is 4th of July except a political holiday? Imagine pulling off something like the American Revolution today. Those men had balls of steel, and they weren't joking when they pledged their "lives, fortunes and sacred honor" to the cause of freedom. It cost many of them their lives and their fortunes, but they kept their sacred honor. Hard to say if anybody really wants freedom these days; I mean besides the freedom of having lots of channels on their cable TV. I'm not sure what comes next.
