Off-topic And Totally Pointless 4th Of July COMPLAINT!!!

Obviously, there are as many good reasons to cancel fireworks shows in the West as there are towns to burn down - which is to say, almost all of them are at risk in this hot and dry summer. But still... I really will miss all the excitement, the noise, the "ooohs and ahhhs"...

The best 4th of July I've ever spent was in... New Jersey! Every little town - Every one - has a huge parade, and then, at night, fireworks. Doesn't matter if said towns are 5 miles apart; each has its own (massive) display. You could stand in one spot and spin around, and see fireworks in all directions...
