I just removed the flywheel from my 230 engine and found it has 145 teeth on it. The ring gear is also retained by 6 capscrews equally spaced around the circumference. It looks like the flange that limits the ring gear depth is mostly broken away. So is this flywheel the correct one for a 6 volt or 12 volt starter?. I can't remember if what the correct tooth counts should be. It has the 8 bolt flange and between the crank face and the flywheel are some raised areas like the flywheel spun or something at one time. Is this any good to reuse or should i get another one ready to go to get ground. The existing ring gear is chewed a bit on the teeth as well.
