Will & Garbee have the closest translation but it's actually not a 9.00 x 16....! don't think there is such a thing but it would be a 230/110r16 if there was an exact translation.
A 255/100r16 is actually over 10" wide...so that would make Garbee's size more like a 10.00 x 16.
230 is just how many millimeters wide the tire is...228.6mm = 9"
The aspect ratio is just the percentage of the width = profile. Since a 9.00 16 has a 10" profile to make up a 36" tire...the tire is 110% as tall as it is wide.
