So today is my town's 250th birthday. The population is about 1,900. There were loads of activities today, and more to come this afternoon and evening. The first event was a 5k race, which I did not participate in! Then was a parade. Only about a mile and a half, and with about half of the town in the parade and the other half watching! My daughter Claire is a Girl Scout, and I had volunteered to let them decorate Blueberry, and also my car hauler trailer. Yesterday about 30 girls showed up and with great gusto decorated the trailer and the trucks. It was something to watch. My wife drove my modern Dodge pulling the trailer (Go Joan!) and I followed with Blueberry with 9 Daisies in the back pelting the onlookers with a machine gun barrage of candy. It was great fun. Later today we will head back for a big chicken barbeque and some local live music.
