If your bed is full width, you could still haul full sheets with spare against one side. Then design a detachable full lentgh side board for use as an 8' long ramp to roll spare up.

Or, depending on how resourceful you are, add a small crane to the corner of the bed. Back corner is the usual for pick ups, but some G.I. vehicles had one at the front for spare hoisting into the gap between bed and cab. Others had a fold down ramp, but stowage forward eats up length, making full sheets not fit.

"Period correct" crane was bent piece of pipe with a WWII surplus bomb hoist underneath. Hand cranked, small cable, hook with pully. In bomber use, pin on end of hoist tube hooked into bob bay above bomb shackle, ordnance handle (my Dad) hadn cranked 500# bombs up until shackle could be clamped. Later in the war they went to hydraulics.
