When I milled my 230 head .060, installed a two-barrel carb, built the electronic ignition distributor for it and went electric fuel pump and fan, it made a DEFINITE seat-of-the-pants improvement in my '50. The two-barrel made the biggest difference in performance, by far. The electronic fan swap helped some, and the Frankenstein'ed distributor kept it running as smooth as silk, compared to the occasional-miss points setup. The electric fuel pump died prematurely, which was no surprise. Mr. Gasket pumps are a joke, anymore. When I go to the 360/NP435 setup this year, the 230 and crashbox are going into my engine-less '54 parts truck. It'll last forever in there, and even after a month of sitting now and then, it still starts in just a few seconds, every time.
