True. I had a Chrysler 225 marine but it was saltwater cooled, both engine and exhaust. It had the sea water pump, obviously, but had a blank cover that bolted in place of the engine pump. Once, when it rusted out, I semi-gutted a pump, cut the shaft close to the face, and bolted it in place...worked fine.
I think the answer lies in my last post where I make refernce to me 'mis-reading'.
