Last month Jerry posted seeing a Dodge Ambulance up at mile 70 of the Glen Hwy. Well the weather was nice and the wife wanted to check out Hatcher Pass, so a little side trip to the other side of Sutton was made. Here’s what I found, an M43 Ambulance CDN. All the front grill work is missing, as is the radiator, engine, transmission, fuel tank, and hood. There is a late model plastic radiator just sitting where the real radiator is supposed to be. But it doesn’t look like who ever owns the truck tried putting in a different engine because the engine compartment isn’t butchered up. The original 24 volt wiring appears to be all there. It also has one Warn lock out hub on the left front. The right front hub is missing.
Does the CDN mean that this one was made in Canada? And if so, wasn’t the Canadian made trucks all equipped with the 251 engine? Because of the longer engine, was the hood longer, or was it the same as the U. S. made M37/M43’s?
On one hand I would like to try and get this truck, but on the flip side, I already have a lot of brands in the fire. I don’t need another iron for the fire. Plus I would have to figure out how I would get that thing back to Anchorage.
If anyone else is interested, I do have the phone number.

Robert
