I think the truck left the factory as Pontchartrain green being the original color, as shown on the dash (like aAa said)
then she was painted RED by some fire dept,
and she changed to another fire dept and was painted PEE green, only when she was painted PEE green they did not paint the door jabs, and left the jabs and insides of the doors red.
I dont think it's a few truck put together at all, or the cab was swapped or the doors replaced.
Ever see some of those M37's on GSA or some of the 1970's trucks on GSA that you can tell for sure were red at some point, then painted PEE green over the top of the red and they never painted the jabs?? I think that is the case with this truck.
I parted out a few fire trucks, and under many coats of fire truck paint is the original color, most times one you would not think to be a fire truck color (like this 1958 W200) maybe the truck was bought off of a dealer lot in 1958, instead of waiting for the right colored truck to come in.
One on the dealer lot beats two on the assembly line!!!
