Ah, I'm too tired. I talked with Ray the other day about the remaining parts I need for my 360-into-'50 swap. I'm still short on the power steering box mount, NP435 lever adapter plate, flywheel spacer, and shortened water pump. He said he has the steering box mount in stock (minus u-joint and hoses), as well as the adapter plate. The one that is REALLY bothering me is the shortened water pump. He's out of them, and won't have any for three months, when he comes back in. I'd like to have my 360 in the truck in a few weeks, and three months is too far off for me to wait on one...

I know I can have a radiator shop swap the bottom radiator outlet (a local guy said he does them all of the time, and would do it for $25), but I hate to hack up a good, original radiator. Added to the cost of a new pre-'70 cast iron water pump, we're at or above the cost of a Ray-modified one. He said I could modify my own water pump, but he doesn't know where I could get the short shaft and impeller without buying them in a quantity of 50 or more. Again, it'd be a huge cost to circumvent the wait.

What have you guys done for the water pump issue on your swaps? Has anyone just ran the early water pump and ran the radiator hose basically across the front of the engine to the outlet on the radiator? I'm running an electric fan, so fan interference wouldn't be an issue, as far as getting the hose caught in the fan blades. If anyone has pictures they can post of whichever way they ran theirs, it would be a BIG help. If one of you had a spare Ray-modified pump they'd part with, that'd be even better. Thanks again!!
