Mike, I think 2 or 3 holes on the GM are the same and you might have to just drill and tap new holes on the bell (perhaps by a machine shop or truck shop). If the LA318 had an NP435, 3 of the holes are the same for the NP540, I think. Then again I am no expert. here is some measurements from a Dodge 435 and my Dodge 540. Poly Truck bells are drilled and tapped for 3, 4 and 5 speeds. Don't know about LA318 bells
