If you use a pry bar, leveraging against each side of the bell housing, and pry on the teeth of the ring gear, you should be able to loosen it a little at a time. Pry on one side, then the other, back and forth, until it will move freely enough to turn the ring gear completely around several times. And I would try to suck all that oil out with a syringe or something, because it may work against you in rotating the engine.
