The 1946-first 600 of production in 1951 had a different tailgate with different stampings. It is about the same size as the later one, but the upper brackets are a little different.

The 1948-85 2wd bed 3 hinge gate is an exact fit for a 1957 Power Wagon assuming it is not a 1957 W100 108" WB truck with a 6 1/2 foot bed.

If you have a 3 hinge gate and you are looking at a three hinge gate that matches the stampings in yours than you have the right item. If the Dodge stamp is smaller or there isn't a center hinge it is not correct.
