I have a Class V 2.5", not the factory 2" hitch for bumper/frame pulling-It is actually rated at 18000 lbs. I'll never pull that heavy but the extra strength and security was worth the purchase.

Totally agree with the gentleman from Canuckistan about wasting the bed of your truck. Even though I usually pull my enclosed 24' trailer and have plenty of spare room, it's nice to be able to put on a camper shell for even room for gear, coolers, etc.... or leave it off for the dirty stuff.

After pulling with goosenecks for 20 years, I actually prefer the tag trailers now. Airbags make the truck ride better and I don't use a weight disbursing hitch. If I ever went heavy I likely would. I'll never see 10000 with my current trailer, tools, spares, and junk pile inside so the Class V is overkill but peace of mind when pulling nice equipment.

I guess it's all about your setup and how you use your rig. Be safe out there.
