No. The Stock Master Cylinder will have a residual pressure check valve inside for the old drum system. This check valve is typically rated about 10 psi pressure. This will keep your disk brakes on hard even after you remove your foot from the brake pedal.

Secondly, the OEM Master is a single chamber system. You should upgrade to a two chamber system. One chamber runs the front brakes, the rear chamber runs the rear brakes. In the event of a system failure, you will not loose front and rear brakes.

I suggest using the 1&5/16" bore Master Cylinder I listed. This will work well. If you retain the rear drum brakes, you will need to buy a 10 psi residual pressure check valve to go in the rear (drum brake) line. These valves are available from summit racing for only a few bucks. If at any time in the future you decide to add rear disk brakes, the master listed is still ideal. Be sure to remove the residual pressure check valve in the rear line if you add rear disks.

Never use a residual pressure check valve in the front disk line. Residual Pressure check valves rated at 2psi are only used in a disk system if the disk caliper is 'HIGHER' than the master cylinder.

You will not need a proportion control valve in a front disk, rear drum brake system. Disk/Disk front and rear will function much better with proportion control.
