I am getting to the point on by B1 1 ton conversion I need to start shopping for tires. I was planning on using the stock 6 lug split ring rims, with tubes, flaps etc. I want to keep the narrow tire look of the 6 x 16 tires. with a 85 R/16 series. However # of radial choices is limited and expensive. Everybody raves about the work Stockton wheel does so I guess the question is if they used my spoke steel centers on a modern radial rim, what would be my size and tire choices ? Don't want to go too wide for both look and steering effort. Majority is on the road driving but do a bunch of hauling in the dirt and mud around the house. Also may do a dual setup and stock rims for dual are 4.50 x 16. I am planning to keep the truck so I don't mind a bit more up front investment in the rim work if it is offset by the tire cost and improved safety. Any body done one of these switches with Stockton Wheel ?
