I've got a NP201 in my garage, it's going in my WC53 behind a NP540 and Perkins diesel. It has, similar to NP205s and 200s, a big rear output bearing retainer that's two pieces. The piece that attaches to the main case has 8 bolts and the outside piece that retains the outermost bearing has 5 bolts. This (probably) has the same bolt pattern as the similar piece on a 205. If so, a Gear Vendors may be adaptable to it. The GV OD for the NP205 has a front adapter piece that bolts to the 5 bolt surface. Theirs has a fine spline female input but they may be able to supply a coarse female input. The diameter of the 205 output and the GV input is 1-3/8". Check to see if the 201 is the same. My guess is that you'll be able to make it fit.
What vehicle is this for? Which transmission, axle ratio, tire size, motor?
A GV OD should be ideal for something like a W300 with 4.88s and 7.50-16s and a 4 spd. RPMs at 60 mph will decrease from 3200 to 2500. Still up there enough so a 318 will be putting out good power.
