Go with the M-715. I have had one with a 350, 400 turbo and ratchet shifter and it
beats the heck out of an M-37 for street driving and towing. M-37 brakes and a 2200# towed load are a real slice o' life adventure at best.
There is no point in trying to keep it stock as the "hurricane" 6 is probably so named because of the parts blowing all over the place when you try to rev' em. Besides, there are enough *BLEEP*-powered M-37's out there already.
