I have found that not all 9.00x16 NDT tires are created equal. You are likely to get different spacing widths between duals depending upon which brand of tires you use.

I have run Denmans (which I bought from Dick Cepek in 1980), Generals (which were bought for my B3PW in the mid 1970's), Mohawks (which were NOS but date coded from the late 1960's), and now new Titan T Hawk 373 tires. I even had an old Goodyear in there too.

The Goodyear was by far the tallest. It stood a good 3-inches taller than any of the others. The old Denman tires were by far the widest. The Mohawks were shorter and narrower than the Denmans and the Titans are about the same height as the old Denmans, but narrower. It has been real fun when I get a system down where I could get my tire chains set exactly where I wanted them and then I go and change to a different set of tires. I ran out of chain with the Mohawks. I was about to start cutting out links, then I switched to Titans. I am glad I did not shorten the chains. They fit much tighter on the Titans than they did on the Mohawks, but not as nice as they did on the Denmans even though the tread on the Denmans was wore almost completely off in the centers.
