You are getting good advice. Depends on what you want ultimately. If you are going for a beater driver or a restoration.
If you get it going and drive around in the deep cushion comfort cab for awhile you may loose interest and never touch it again. If you pull the front clip and remove the engine, disassemble it for an inspection and rebuild you may be committed to a project. I have done it both ways and fun either way, but it is nice to know how solid a engine is before you drive any further than you are willing to walk back.
