1927 Chryslers I believe are the first production car with Hydraulic brakes. Even Dodge I am pretty sure had them before 33, maybe in 28? ford was the big hold out. IMHO the best hybrid type vehicle on the market is the Chevy Volt. runs 40 miles before and engine comes on. unique in the segment. the real world mileage for owners are averaging in your typical suburban commuter usage is around 110 MPG. now if you built it with a diesel it would even do better but 110 is phenomenal and blows away the competition.
