Agreed, there is a company that makes the centers for the Hummer double beadlock wheels out of PVC pipe. I would think all you would have to do is get the correct diameter and figure the width out. Then you'd have the best of both worlds a cheap double beadlock that wasn't 16.5" so you could run somethin' other than a swamper. On top of that it would be rust proof! Might be a good Idea. Any bolted together wheel is gonna break bolts though if you don't pay close attention to the air pressure. The trouble I had with the tubes was after 6months of some pretty intense use at low pressure, I would start getting what looked like creases in the rubber. Eventually they'd wear through and I'd have four or five patches on'em. Schwabs was charging me quite a bit for the tubes, and if one of the flaps got ruined they were really spendy. Combat wheel might have been different, but like I said before, the intial cost was quite a bit higher. Now I can reliabley run 4-6 lbs in old orange for miles. Thats not to say I have never lost a bead. I've actually lost three in the two years that I've been running my custom wheel setup. I figure thats acceptable considering the pressures I'm running and the amount of miles the truck has covered in extreme conditions. Once when the tire came off, I had to move the truck another 30yds or so to get to a reasonably level spot, and with no air in it the tire got wadded up pretty badly. But it didn't damage the tire. We just mounted it back up and were on our way in less than 20min. The best part about running Boggers is the center of the tread face has a trench for the strap when you have to reset the bead on the trail. Those that think Boggers are stiff, have never had to wrestle a Power King back on the rim! I think the ultimate setup would be a set of the Staun double beadlock$. But they are $pendy.
